Hi, I'm Emily - or Emmy to my friends.
I'm a journalist, director, video editor, photographer and writer. Yes, I do all of those things. I love telling stories about real people in the digital media space.
Before going solo, I was a Senior Producer at Conde Nast. I made videos for Glamour, Teen Vogue, THEM, Brides, and Allure. I created Glamour's series "Body Talk," which has been viewed over 35 million times on YouTube. I directed and edited the short documentary Pretty Big Movement Destroys Dancer Stereotypes which won a 2018 Webby Award.
My video clients include NBC News, TODAY Show, The Wall Street Journal, Cosmopolitan, Katie Couric Media, and The Skimm. My photography has been licensed by City & State New York Magazine, Business Insider, and in a surprising twist - The American Conservative.
In 2019, I was selected by my alma mater Missouri State University to receive a Public Affairs honor. The governor of Missouri said Maya Angelou and I "use their creative abilities to bring about change" which was pretty wild.
I am a Sony Fs7mii owner/operator and I have a bevy of additional gear for beautiful video and photo projects. I edit in Adobe Premiere and have been editing video professionally for over a decade.
