Hi, I'm Emily - or Emmy to my friends.

I'm a journalist, director and video editor. Sometimes I work as a photographer and a writer. I love telling stories about real people in the digital media space.

Before diving into freelance life, I was a Senior Producer at Conde Nast. I made videos for Glamour, Teen Vogue, THEM, Iris, Brides, and Allure. While at Conde, I created Glamour's series "Body Talk," which has been viewed over 35 million times on YouTube. I directed and edited the short documentary Pretty Big Movement Destroys Dancer Stereotypes for Iris, which won a 2018 Webby Award.

I am a Sony Fs5 and A7sii owner/operator and have all the bells and whistles for beautiful video and photo projects. I edit in Adobe Premiere and have been editing video or over a decade.

My clients include NBC News, TODAY Show, Wall Street Journal, Cosmopolitan, Katie Couric Media, Match Group (Tinder), and The Skimm.

In 2019, I was selected by my alma mater Missouri State University to receive a Public Affairs honor. The governor of Missouri said Maya Angelou and I "use their creative abilities to bring about change" which was pretty cool.

Fun fact...I'm mental health first-aid certified by the state of New York.
